The Mughal collection gathers bedspreads in hand-printed cotton, each inspired by the decorative motifs of Mughal art: arches, stylised flowers, interlaced geometries and colour fields that recall the palaces and gardens of northern India.
Every throw bears the name of a place or an image: the Samarcand bedspread in printed cotton expresses the architectural motif in warm tones, while its Samarcand Light Green variant reprises it on a light green ground. The Persia cotton bedspread interweaves curved lines and rosettes, the Fleurs des Indes brings a delicate flowering on a light ground. The palette is completed by the vivid tones of Orange Ibis Checks, Yellow Marygold and Green Mary Gold, through to the deep blue of Blu Prussia and the spiced tones of Coromandel.
The Mughal collection throws are versatile: they cover a bed, dress a sofa, become a tablecloth for an impressive dinner. The hand-printed cotton using the block print technique ensures an irregular, living line, distinct from industrial printing.
To compose a cohesive setting, the Mughal motifs pair with Indian cotton cushions in the same colour ranges, with cotton table runners for the dining area, and with cotton placemats to complete the table.
Colour and pattern variants within a single Mughal decorative language: a way to bring Indian artisanal tradition into your home, one throw at a time.
